A single compound leaf, lying on the ground, its life now over, yet its family of leaflets remain attached.
Each individual is different--long and short, whole and marred. Yet each one is also essentially the same--clearly of the same kind of tree, belonging together.
Thus we see the simultaneous diversity within the context of essential uniformity that is necessary for genuine communities.
