I arrived first and could hardly believe my eyes. Except for the weeds and the slowly accumulating decay, everything lay just as I remembered it.
Incredibly, forty-three years after that terrible day, nothing here had changed. Much like our broken relationships, for we had neither seen nor spoken to each other in all that time. All we had was this last stale and rotting memory.
